The Big Trip.
It’s probably worth giving some extra context for this section. Nicola and I both put our careers on hold for seven months to tour around the world.
We started in Japan, then headed to India, followed by Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Borneo. From there, we went to Hong Kong before flying over the Pacific for a week in Austin, Texas. Next, we travelled south to explore Patagonia, then worked our way up through Chile and Argentina, across Bolivia, and into Peru. A true round-the-world trip, taking in cities and wildernesses, jungles and deserts. And all on a pretty minimal budget. This was a journey of hostels, night buses, street food, and watching every penny, cent, yen, baht, and sol. Here’s how we got on.
